FAQ

How do I make a reservation?

We have prepared an Online Reservation Form which you can use to send us your request directly. We would also gladly accept your request via e-mail or over the phone. Thereupon, we will send you an offer and a registration form for the desired stay. If you accept our offer, please complete the form with your personal data and signature and return it to us via e-mail, fax or by mail. You will then receive confirmation of your reservation and your host’s contact details from us.

How much does your service cost?

The daily price is the final price. Our commission is already included in this price.
Since December 2014 the City of Cologne charges a City Tax (bed tax). This will be added to the agreed upon daily price where applicable.

Are the accommodations furnished?

Yes. Our agency specializes in the procurement of fully furnished guest rooms and apartments.

How are the accommodations furnished?

The furnishings differ for each room/apartment. Each object is individually furnished. Therefore, it is very important that you clearly specify your wishes and needs in as much detail as possible so that we can offer you the best possible accommodations.

Do I need to bring bed linens and towels with me?

All of our hosts supply sufficient bed linens and towels for your stay. An additional change of bed linens/towels can be arranged if desired.

Where are the accommodations located?

Our hosts’ accommodations are located throughout the city. You may tell us where you would prefer to stay and we will find the closest possible location for you.

Times for check in/check out?

The arrival time in your accommodation should be previously arranged with your host. Checkout is usually in the morning before noon. You may also agree upon a different checkout time with your host.

May I have guests stay with me in the accommodation?

The daily overnight price is calculated according to the number of nights and the number of guests. Please understand that lodging of additional persons in a reserved accommodation is only possible if the host previously agrees and at an additional cost. Please always contact our agency first if such a need arises.

Where do I get the keys?

After you have received confirmation of your reservation which also contains the address and contact data of your host, you will need to contact the host personally in order to arrange handover of the keys.

How do I pay?

After accepting our offer, you will receive confirmation of your reservation with your host’s contact data. You will then also be asked to pay part of the total sum onto our agency account. Payment can be made either via direct transfer or PayPal (additional fee).
Please pay the remaining sum for your stay – unless arranged otherwise – in cash upon arrival to your host. The host can provide you with an invoice or a receipt.
Unfortunately, credit card payment is NOT possible.
We ask that you please realize that there are exceptions, e.g. heavily frequented trade fairs, for which we will insist upon an advance payment of the full sum in order to guarantee reservations for our hosts.

Will I receive an invoice indicating VAT?

The majority of our hosts rent out private accommodations and can only issue a voucher of receipt indicating payment of expenses for overnight accommodation. Unless otherwise stated in the offer, all prices are net amounts.
If necessary, our agency can provide an invoice with an invoice number and an indication of VAT. In this case the offered total price will increase according to the effective VAT rate.

Is the City Tax (bed tax) of the City of Cologne included in the daily price?

If not specifically indicated in our offer, the overall price of your reservation does not include a City Tax (bed tax). For sojourns of 2 months or shorter the City of Cologne imposes a fee of 5% on the total amount for lodging (including VAT) i.e. on the total overnight rate which is paid to the host. This additional fee is to be paid by the guest and can be demanded by the host at arrival time. If required verification from the City of Cologne is provided, business expenses are exempt. My stay in Cologne is occupationally mandatory. Must I still pay the City Tax (bed tax)?

No, if required verification from the City of Cologne is provided, business expenses are exempt.

Is it possible to change my reservation?

Changes in your reservation that are related to either the length of your stay or the number of guests are generally possible but are subject to certain restrictions at times of heavily frequented trade fairs. Depending upon the change you request, there may also be a modification or adjustment in the daily price.
For each change to your reservation we will charge a special expenditure fee of not more than
EUR 15 including a VAT of 19%.

How can I cancel my reservation?

If you need to cancel your reservation, please contact our agency by telephone or via e-mail. We will then contact and inform the host. Please take notice of our cancellation policy.

Is smoking allowed?

The majority of our accommodations are non-smoker accommodations. In consideration of our hosts and subsequent guests, we must ask that you act accordingly.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, very few of our accommodations allow pets. Please contact us if necessary.
